Dr Mitchell Lee joining Clarity Eye Surgeons from April 2023
Introduction
We are pleased to announce that Dr Mitchell Lee will be joining the team at Clarity Eye Surgeons from April 2023.
Dr Lee is a Sydney-based Ophthalmologist with interests and experience in cataract surgery, complex anterior segment and lens surgery, and conditions of the retina and vitreous. Dr Lee studied medicine through the University of Sydney Medical School and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He completed his training in Ophthalmology through the Prince of Wales Hospital training network in Sydney.
Dr Lee has also completed further training in complex anterior segment surgery and medical retina under the tutelage of Professor Minas Coroneo at tge Prince of Wales Hospital and the Centre for Eye Health at the University of New South Wales.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Lee is one of the inaugural Sarks Medical Retina Research Fellows at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney. His research primarily concerns the early detection and characterisation of age-related macular degeneration.
Dr Lee is also committed to the provision of eye care and surgery in regional and remote communities, having undertaken training with the Outback Eye Service established by Professor Fred Hollows. During the COVID pandemic he volunteered to spend 6 months locked down in Broken Hill as the sole Ophthalmologist serving this highly isolated community.
Dr Lee advocates a minimally invasive approach to surgery and ophthalmic care, using the latest developments in the field to ensure optimum outcomes for his patients.
